2010 Workshops Application

Artists can attend workshops anywhere in the United States. What makes attending a workshop in Montana under the direction of Wanda Mumm an inspiring week? One word makes it a unique experience - Montana. When people come to Montana they can see the magic of Montana. Something special happens when you stand outside and try to capture the beauty of this landscape.

Montana has many things to teach the artist. One just has to observe and listen to discover them. There is a down-to-earth way of dealing with life in rural Montana that appeals to artists who want to improve their work. The majesty of the mountains, the vastness of the sky, and the color of the west that exist here brings unique inspiration to paint. The horizon on the land and in paintings is endless at our Montana workshop.

Our days are filled with "learning to see" moments to put to canvas, bringing more emotion and excitement to participates paintings. Our evening meals are always met with great anticipation. It is the group`s time to reflect on our day and reward ourselves with good food and discussion of the secrets learned from the instructors and the Montana landscape. When night comes at end of our day of discovery the stars illuminate the panorama of the Big Sky far as the eye can see. Coming to the Montana Art Experience Workshop will leave you with stories to tell.

Director Wanda Mumm invites you to join a selected group of artists to experience the beauty of her state in Montana. She can say with confidence that working outdoors is one of the greatest teachers she has worked with. Working through how to observe it all is the key to understanding how to create better painting. She works continually to find the magic she sees daily in Montana. Wanda believes it is a sincere privilege to be in Montana sharing her art passion and teaching other artists about the beauty of this land she now calls home in paint.
